Barkbox - August 2017 | Blog My Backlog
What is BarkBox?: BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for your favorite pupper. Each box includes five items, two toys, two bags of treats, and a chew. You tell them the size of your pupper and how you want to pay, and then you decide if you want to spend an extra $9/box for an extra toy! It's divided into three sizes, so Trumpet fits nicely in the middle category as 'Just Right.'
How Much is BarkBox?: If you want no commitments, cancel anytime, the box is $29/month. A three-month commitment brings it down to $25/month. Six months is $23/month (billed up-front as $138) and a one-year commitment is $20/month but you get to pay monthly! You get free shipping anywhere in the US and Canada, but there is sales tax applied to certain states.
Send treats and toys, plz.
I wanted to include this picture because the paper was just so cute!
Full Pig Ear ($5.00) - Nope, nope. Trumpet doesn't get these greasy chews, he loves chewing up things on either of our beds or on the couch and that causes grease stains everywhere. These get passed along to a family friend that rescues dogs so she can give them out. (Note, I'm not against pig ears or other chews at all. I gave them to my late Golden frequently but he was outside at my parent's and I allowed him to have them. I just don't want grease on my furniture!)
Flying Saucer Snacks ($8.00) - Soft and chewy, meant for Trumpet! I don't typically grab for lamb treats due to the smell (I also don't eat lamb...chewy) but these aren't that bad on the nose! They are also actually soft so Trumpet noms these!
Bark Pops (Rotisserie Chicken Flavor) ($10.00) - These say they're crunch but they're basically air-popped and kinda weird. They had a nice light crunch but would dissolve in water...which is great except when Trumpet got one and then puked...in my office...without my knowledge. Yes, I stepped in it. Either way, Trumpet tore through these.
Peaceful Percy Space Squirrel ($12.00) - Isn't he so cute with his three eyes? I love the squirrel toys that they come up with every month and this was absolutely adorable until Trumpet started trying to kill it and I put it up to distract him from it for a bit. Still cute, still the perfect size for him!
Set to Fun! Ray Gun ($10.00) - Oh my, this might be my favorite toy ever. If you remember those toys from years ago where you moved it back and forth and it made that weird squeak/squeal/obnoxious sound, THIS DOES IT. I think I enjoy this toy more than Trumpet just because of how obnoxious it is and how it doesn't bother me a bit!
This box was valued at $45.00, well over what I paid for it. I absolutely loved the theme and how almost everything fit it (each box's chew might not fit the theme, it seems). Trumpet loved his treats and his toys and I loved how annoying the Ray Gun was.
As always, let me know what you thought of this box in the comments!
