Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Monsters in a Turbulent Star Review | April 2018 Polish Pickup

I told y'all I had the PPU for BEGL to share with y'all, here it is! This polish isn't capped so no worries on rushing in first thing! This is a super fun Spring shade that's just a perfect orange-red. I only have three brands of the total PPU offerings, so check out My Lacquer Cabinet for all of what you can get this month!

Polish Pickup is a monthly polish shopping extravaganza! Each month, there's a new theme (voted on by group members) and makers individually decide if they want to participate and create their own polish to meet the theme. This month, the store is open from 4/6-4/9, and you can buy as many or as few polishes as you want. The shipping is $3.00 total, no matter how many polishes you get, and they combine shipping if you make more than one order during the weekend!

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer's info:

Monsters in a Turbulent Star is a bright orange leaning red scattered holographic with a touch of larger particle linear holographic pigment, aqua shimmer, turquoise glass flecks, gunmetal and gold microflakies, and green to aqua aurora shifting pigment.
Inspired by a photo of the NGC 2264 cone nebula as captured by the Hubble telescope.

Glossy nail macro.

I don't usually gravitate towards oranges or really warm-toned reds, but this is so unique and not at all what I expected. It's like a deeper coral that sometimes looks orange and sometimes looks red.

This is one of those polishes that's so packed full of stuff that it's impossible to name all of it and how much I love it without writing a book. I did notice that there was a small amount of unmixed pigment. I mentioned it to the maker and it shouldn't be a problem in the bottle you buy this weekend.

Matte nail macro.

I super love this polish matte. The flakies pop so well and, I don't know, it's just so pretty.

Formula: Very good.
Coats for Opacity: One coat.
Ease of Dry: Quick dry.
Texture: Minimal texture noted, unmixed pigment, maker was notified and won't be in final polishes.
Finish: Satin.
Removal: Normal removal, no issues noted.

As always, let me know what you thought of this polish in the comments!
