Birchbox - October 2018 Review | Frankly Kiersten Reviews

When I received this box, it was $10/month (I signed up for six months) so I will base my opinions off of $10 instead of the new $15.

What is Birchbox?: Birchbox is the original subscription box, and it's still going strong. Birchbox sends anywhere from 4 to 8 products a month (full size, deluxe sample size, and sample size) and you can review your items each month for 10 points/item plus extra points for sharing your box on Social Media. You can also get additional points for getting a yearly subscription or getting referrals. Every 100 points you earn is $10 to use in their shop. Now on to the box!

How Much is Birchbox?: Birchbox is $15/month if you sign up monthly, $14/month if you sign up for six months (billed up front), and $13/month if you sign up for a year (billed up front). This is a jump from $10/month previously.

Small samples, weird foam padding, must be Birchbox.

I do love these boxes. if they weren't branded, I would keep them to use as gift boxes.

Theme card.

Info card.

Davines MELU Hair Shield ($11.10) - I don't know how well this protected my hair against heat but I do know that it made my hair smell..not good. I tried getting past the scent a couple of times but I passed it along after realizing I wasn't able to get past it.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner ($12.57) - I am so tired of seeing this liner in my bags/boxes.

Purlisse BB Tinted Moist Cream ($6.00) - I really loved the finish of this but even with the fairest one sent to me, it was too dark once it dried down. I gave this to my mom because she's a shade or two darker than I am and what doesn't work for me typically works for her.

Sand & Sky Brilliant Skin Porefining Pink Clay Mask ($11.23) - I use this sparingly, so I actually have a treatment or two left (through the few that I've received). I like this for once a month use as more than that seems to be too drying for my skin.

Air Repair Protect + Prevent Hydrating Serum ($3.64) - This is a super tiny sample of a serum but I did enjoy working it into my routine for a bit. With samples so small, I can't really tell if anything is working beyond moisturizing or not, but I did find this helped with my dry skin.

Swatch of Eyeko.

This box was valued at $44.54, pretty good for a Birchbox. I didn't really love the box and over half wasn't for me, but it was at least different than what I typically receive in a box.

As always, let me know what you thought of this box in the comments!
