Birchbox - September 2018 Review | Frankly Kiersten Reviews

Some of the links in this post are referral links. That means if you click through and subscribe, I will receive compensation. Find out more information here.

When I received this box, it was $10/month (I signed up for six months) so I will base my opinions off of $10 instead of the new $15.

What is Birchbox?: Birchbox is the original subscription box, and it's still going strong. Birchbox sends anywhere from 4 to 8 products a month (full size, deluxe sample size, and sample size) and you can review your items each month for 10 points/item plus extra points for sharing your box on Social Media. You can also get additional points for getting a yearly subscription or getting referrals

How Much is Birchbox?: Birchbox is $15/month if you sign up monthly, $14/month if you sign up for six months (billed up front), and $13/month if you sign up for a year (billed up front). This is a jump from $10/month previously.

Another month with a box full of tiny samples, I still don't get why they don't get smaller boxes. It would save money on shipping and make things look less sad.

The box is super cute, though!

Info card.

Number 4 Jour d'automne Smoothing Balm ($6.12) - Thank you dry, frizzy hair, for the fact that I need this. This works a lot better than I would have expected and the constant of No 4 products drying my hair out didn't hold true for this.

[comfort zone] Hydramemory Cream Gel ($8.11) - This is a pretty good moisturizer. I like gel moisturizers and while this isn't entirely gel, I did like this a bit.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser ($7.27) - I've received this a couple of times and every time, I give it away. I don't like the scent/formula of this cleanser and probably never will.

Chella Eyebrow Pencil (Luscious Light Brown) ($20.00) - This is a good brow pencil. It's not dark enough for me to use throughout my brows and the formula isn't the best, but it's a solid pencil for my ever-so-slightly lighter hair during the Summer. It's since been used up.

M.A.C. Cosmetics Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara ($12.00) - I liked, not loved, this mascara. It's good for shading your lashes and adding a slight bit of volume, which makes it work for me. If you're looking for some amazing mascara, this isn't is.

Swatch of Chella.

This box was valued at $53.50, which was pretty good for a Birchbox. Surprisingly, I liked this box. If all, or even most, of Birchbox's boxes were like this one, I would have kept the subscription.

As always, let me know what you thought of this box in the comments!
