Boxycharm - January 2018 | Frankly Kiersten Reviews

What is Boxycharm?: Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box that sends 4-5 full-size beauty products with boxes being valued at $100+. Each month has a theme but it's not followed exactly as much as the spirit of the theme. Shipping has gotten a lot better since my last Boxycharm post, I get my box almost always in the first half of the month (there is a distribution center less than an hour from my house).

How Much is Boxycharm?: Boxycharm is $21/month shipped. Currently, Boxycharm is offered to the US, its territories, and Canada.

If you sign up for Boxycharm Luxe, four times a year you will get a different box that costs an additional $28.99 on top of the $21. You will not get a 'regular' Boxycharm that month and there's currently no way to get both the regular and the Luxe during the Luxe months without having two subscriptions at once. Until you can get both without dealing with two subscriptions, I will stay with the 'regular' one.

This was an.....interesting month with Boxycharm.

Info card.

dr.Brandt Pores No More Luminizer Primer ($38.00) - Young Kiersten hated getting dr.Brandt products in boxes. Older Kiersten is in love with getting this awesome skincare and makeup prep. This is a really good primer if you have pores (obviously) and I highly recommend seeing if you can get a sample from Sephora if you haven't tried it yet.

Grande Cosmetics GrandeLips Hydrating Lip Plumper (Uptown Taupe) ($27.00) - This arrived exploded everywhere, which is why it's pink in the first picture of this post but a nude shade here. This isn't my first Grande Cosmetics product and I didn't care for the other one either. I didn't feel this was super plumping and it was sticky. Pass.

Crown Pro Glam Metals Palette ($25.00) - This arrived with a few shadows...everywhere. The shadows are super soft so they're easily breakable. Boxycharm did send me a replacement (obviously) and while I liked the shades and used it for a while, I ended up decluttering this during a massive cleanout that happened this Summer.

IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil ($24.00) - When I see 'Universal' on a brow product, I give it the most side eye possible. I didn't expect it to work at all, but this has become my favorite brow pencil I own. I still use another pencil to darken up the outer tail, but this is my primary product and the only one I use on no-makeup days.

Swatches L-R: IT Cosmetics, Grande Cosmetics, Crown Pro.

Pür Cosmetics Bronze and Brighten Cheek Palette ($34.00) - This is a really strange palette. It's a powder palette but in the creamiest way possible. I found it a little chunky with a brush or my finger and actually a little too pigmented. It wasn't the easiest to blend either. Pass.

Swatches of Pür Cosmetics.

This box was valued at $148.00. I did find two holy grail products so overall, I think of this month's box as a win.

As always, let me know what you thought of this box in the comments!
