Boxycharm - October 2017 Review | Blog My Backlog

What is Boxycharm?: Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box that sends 4-5 full-size beauty products with boxes being valued at $100+. Each month has a theme but it's not followed exactly as much as the spirit of the theme. Shipping has gotten a lot better since my last Boxycharm post, I get my box almost always in the first half of the month (there is a distribution center less than an hour from my house).

How Much is Boxycharm?: Boxycharm is $21/month shipped. Currently, Boxycharm is offered to the US, its territories, and Canada.

If you sign up for Boxycharm Luxe, four times a year you will get a different box that costs an additional $28.99 on top of the $21. You will not get a 'regular' Boxycharm that month and there's currently no way to get both the regular and the Luxe during the Luxe months without having two subscriptions at once. Until you can get both without dealing with two subscriptions, I will stay with the 'regular' one.

Second box back. I honestly didn't know if I'd continue the subscription but the first one came while I was in Europe so I gave it a two-month try, and boy was I happy that I did.

Info card.

dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion ($58.00) - I wasn't sure about this product at first. I don't do a lot of exfoliants because I tend to get a breakout right after but I did try this and I love the way it makes my skin feel. My face feels smooth without feeling raw and I don't get breakouts after using it.

Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter (Prosecco Pop) ($38.00) - This is such a stunning highlighter. It's a bit more warm and a bit more gold than I normally wear but it's nice to mix with a super white highlight to create just the right shade. I don't find this accents my texture any more than other highlights as well!

dirty little secret Eyeshadow Chubby (Jaded) ($14.00) - These eyeshadow crayons are nice for quick use but I have found that I gave all of mine away to a family friend because I just prefer to use either my trestique ones or traditional eyeshadows. I did really like the shade of this, though!

tarte tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint (Front Row) ($20.00) - I so badly wanted to like this color. I love tarte's liquid lip formula and this is no exception, but the shade is too warm-toned for me to actually wear.

jontéblu Lip Liner Pencil (Brown Sugar) ($5.00) - I love these lip pencils. They're smooth and creamy but don't transfer easily, it's the perfect mix! The shade is a little on the brown side but mixes in nicely with some deeper nude lip colors.

Swatches L-R: jontéblu, dirty little secret, tarte, Becca Cosmetics.

This box was valued at a whopping $135. I loved a few things from the box but I also found a dr. Brandt product that I loved, which has been difficult in the past. Overall the box was great and I could see how it was an even better box for those less picky than I am.

As always, let me know what you thought of this box in the comments!
