BeautyCon Box - Spring Review

BeautyCon canceled their subscription prior to the Fall 2017 box. While the box is no longer around, I thought it was still good to review the box as it was packed full of products worthy of a review.

What is BeautyCon Box?: BeautyCon Box is a quarterly (March, June, September, and December) box with a guarantee of $100 of beauty, fashion, and skin care items. Each box is curated by someone (Influencer, Beauty Guru, etc). Boxes can also include exclusive items designed specifically for BeautyCon subscribers!

How much is BeautyCon Box?: BeautyCon Box is $29/quarter plus shipping. It is currently only available in the US but they are working on making it an international box so keep your eyes peeled for that!

I signed up for this subscription at Black Friday so I paid a lower rate. I'd suggest if you can wait, subscribing then so you can get the much lower cost!

Check out all of the goodies in this box!

The roses are so pretty! I love how the boxes are wrapped in something special each season.

Info card.

Cargo Cosmetics Around the World Eye Shadow Palette ($34.00) (Discontinued) - This is a really interesting eyeshadow palette. It's an interesting mix of mattes and shimmers, broken up into three quads or six duos for specific looks, or you can mix and match shadows for your own look. There is a lot of powdery kick up with the mattes, and still a decent bit with the shimmers. They blend nicely but honestly, there are tons of better quality neutral palettes for the cost. Because I have it, I've been using it, but I wouldn't repurchase it (if it were still available).

Swatches L-R, top to bottom.

The BrowGal Convertible Brow: Powder to Pomade Duo (Universal) ($35.00) - There is no such thing as a universal brow product. I like that they tried to send a brow product, but a code to get your shade from this brand would have been a better idea (there are three trios, so it's still not perfect). none of these shades worked for me, the dark was way too dark, the middle too warm, the lightest too light. This was an instant pass. :(

The BrowGal Brow Brush ($14.00) - On the other hand, this brush is really nice. I really dislike double-sided brushes because I keep my brushes in cups, but this one isn't really a brush that would be out on display. The spoolie is stiff enough to be effective and the other end is really good at applying the powder/pomade.

NUXE Shimmering Dry Oil ($5.67) - Oh dear, no. I looked this up and it's supposedly the number 1 dry oil in France but I'm not sure why. It's just not a good product in my opinion. I don't like the oily feeling and I really don't like the golden shimmer.

OGX Orchid Oil Color Protect Spray ($7.99) - I don't have colored hair so I don't need to protect it, immediate pass for me. My mother does have colored hair so I gave it to her.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Makeup Removing Towelettes ($6.99) - These, on the other hand, were used frequently while I was in Europe. I love using the Garnier Micellar Water (I probably have four bottles under my sink) so having the wipes was a guaranteed win.

NYX Bright Idea Illuminating Stick (Rose Petal Pop) ($7.99) - If this were more opaque, it would be a lovely lip color. Because it's super sheer (and it's way too bright), it was a pass. It's also not the peachy shade that's shown on the website, so I would have been upset if I had purchased it online and hoped to get that. There are a lot of gorgeous shades that come in this formula, I only wish they had included one of the others!

IBY Beauty Mineral Pressed Blush (Peach Sheen) ($9.00) - Now on to a cheek product that I really love. I'm really into peachy/coral-y blushes and the golden sheen is really gorgeous. I haven't tried any other product by IBY but I'd definitely be interested in it if they're all as good as this one!

Dirty Little Secrets Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick (Rust) ($14.00) - I really wanted to like this but I'm not really a fan of the color. It's a little too brown for my liking, not really cool-toned enough or really just the right shade.

Luxie Beauty (Rose Gold Duo Fibre Powder Brush 516) ($22.00) - I just want to start with how much I love Luxie brushes. I'd love to have a full set of matching ones but they are a bit more costly than I am willing the pay. They pick up the perfect amount of product and dispurses it beautifully.

Swatches L-R: IBY Beauty Mineral Pressed Blush, NYX Bright Idea Illuminating Stick, DLS Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick.

This box was worth a crazy $156.64! Even if the entire box wasn't a 'love,' it was still a good enough win for the cost of the box. The standouts were definitely the IBY blush and the Luxie brush! Did you get this box? Was anything a standout for you?

As always, let me know what you thought of this box in the comments!
