Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Lighting the Way | December 2017 Polish Pickup

Press Sample

Hey, y'all! Hope your Thanksgiving went well! It's almost a week out and we still have leftovers, so they went into the freezer for that time when I really want dressing or ham (it happens more than I'd like to admit). Now, it's full-blown Christmas in this house!

Today I have one of the gorgeous polishes from Polish Pickup for December (the theme is Holidays Around the World), this one by Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer! Lighting the Way is inspired by the Obon Festival in Japan (a festival in honor of the spirit of one’s ancestors).

Polish Pickup is a monthly polish shopping extravaganza! Each month, there's a new theme (voted on by group members) and makers individually decide if they want to participate and create their own polish to meet the theme. This month, the store is open from 12/1-12/4, and you can buy as many or as few polishes as you want. The shipping is $3.50 total, no matter how many polishes you get, and they combine shipping if you make more than one order during the weekend!

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer's info:

Lighting the Way is a deep navy blue jelly packed with copper shimmer, a red to gold to green shifting shimmer, copper glass flecks, and blue and gold microflakies.

Bottle macro.

Glossy nail macro.

The shimmer in this polish, it's to die for! I'm also living for the deep blue base, it really does look like lights reflecting off of a night sky!

The shift and flakes combined almost makes it look like there's a pink shimmer! I'm in love!

Matte nail macro.

The matte does make the flakies pop more but the shimmer and shift disappear. It's still a gorgeous blue polish with a matte top coat, but I definitely think it's better with a glossy top coat.

Formula: Amazing.
Coats for Opacity: Two coats.
Ease of Dry: Easy.
Texture: None noted.
Finish: Shine.

As always, let me know what you thought of this polish in the comments!
