The Howling Boutique's Supermoon Lacquer - Cosmic Dust Review
The Howling Boutique, a nail polish jewelry shop, has now created a nail polish line named Supermoon Lacquer. Get it, Howling, Supermoon? It's all a thing! I finally have the Ready to Launch Collection to show you guys and have a brand new Macro Lens Set to use, which means I'll be Macro-ing all the things! The full Ready to Launch collection (9 polishes) is available for a discounted $85 or each polish is available for $9-$11. Check out other The Howling Boutique's Supermoon Lacquer reviews here!
I will have the polishes each getting their own review at some point. I had a goal of doing it daily, but life happened. I just want to make sure each polish gets the appropriate attention! Today, I have Cosmic Dust.
Cosmic Dust is a subtle multichrome with a matching shimmer that shifts in color from red-violet, to magenta, to dark red-orange.
Shown below is two coats of Cosmic Dust.
Bottle macro. If you can't tell, my camera went 'WOAH' when trying to capture all of this.
Macro, look at all those flakes. You can also see some of the chrome-ness in this beautiful polish!
I absolutely love the base shade of this, the rich-ness of the purple is so amazing. The shift is very difficult to pick up, but it is definitely there. It's more in indirect lighting where you can see it, which is just more of a reason to buy this polish and see it yourself!
Up close, yay for the best base color ever. Cosmic Dust was one of the polishes I was worried about trying because I wasn't sure how it would look on me, but it's so perfect! I added a single coat of glossy top coat to add some shine, as Cosmic Dust applies with a slight about of shine.
Matte makes the chrome-ness be less evident in macro and makes the flakes very evident.
Matte zoomed out causes the varying colors in the multi-chrome to show more. I really like this polish matte, but I think my favorite is glossy!
And of course, more up close. There are a few different shades showing here.
Cosmic Dust definitely shocked me when it comes to how much I would actually like it. I figured the formula would be great, I heard nothing but amazing things about Supermoon Lacquer from the beginning, but I was kinda on the fence when it comes to this polish. Sometimes my feeling is right, but this time, it was wrong.
Let me know what you thought of Cosmic Dust! Do you like it better matte or glossy? Tell me in the comments!
