Boxycharm - August 2014
Boxycharm is a monthly subscription that costs $21/month. They have monthly themes and send items based on those themes. I've seen boxes average 4-5 items, but some have more items. All of the boxes in a month are usually the same (shades may vary), which is good for spoilers. You also have the entire month to sign up and still be eligible to get that month's box. Shipping does take some time, though. They post that they have 5-10 business days to send you box out. They have a referral program and getting referrals gets you a free item from their shop. This box came fairly quickly, took about a week from ship date to arrival (shipping email took a few days to come, though).
This month's theme is Beach Babe and the box includes all kinds of summery items! The only sad thing about summer boxes is that they always include bronzers, which are useless to me! (Super pale girls problems.) Here's my box!
Their boxes are always so cute. It might always be the same, but I always love seeing it.
Theme card.
Info card. Still love this!
First look. I love that everything is packed so tightly in there so nothing gets messed up. :)
OFRA Cosmetics Americano Bronzer ($35.00) - Seriously, the only thing I won't ever be able to use. No matter how 'light' bronzers say they are, they are still to dark for me to ever use. It doesn't matter if I try to bronze or contour, it's all a few shades too dark. Luckily plenty of people want this and I will be able to trade it. There was another bronzer that was sent as well, so you might get it instead of this one.
ModelCo CHEEK + LIPS Tint (Rosy Red) ($22.00) - I love this! It has a weird consistency that takes some getting used to, but I love how easy it is to use and how long-lasting it is! It's a great color that matches just about all skin shades. I wish there were more shades of this, I would buy them all!
Tarina Tarantino Conditioning Lip Sheen (Showroom) ($22.00) - On the website, this is described as a Baby Milky Pink, which I definitely see. This isn't a full-coverage lip stick but it definitely has color in it. I can't see myself using this alone, but I definitely see it being great for layering and creating my own shade!
Morphe Brushes Powder Brush ($19.99) - I cannot find a link for just this brush, and all of the brush sets that I find on their website are out of stock. It's a very soft and great brush, though. I've heard great things about Morphe but never spent the money on them...but now I might have to. It picks up powder great and doesn't hold too much in the brush, which I love.
OFRA Cosmetics Eyeliner (Green Go) ($13.00) - Oh my at this eyeliner! I'm glad I received this instead of the lip liner. It applies smoothly and the color held for a long time. I'm not sure what 'Green Go' is supposed to look like, but to me it's an olive green similar to camo. I hope other colors hold just as great as these do, because I'm seriously thinking of making an order.
The total for this box is $111.99 and considering I only paid $21 for it, it's so worth it. Even without being able to use the bronzer, I still got my money's worth over and over again! Did anyone else get Boxycharm? What was your thoughts on it and what items did you get that were interchangeable?
