Bulu Box Weight Loss - May 2014

I'm going to preface this by saying that this was a huge letdown for both my fiance and myself. ><

Bulu Box is a monthly subscription box with two different options, typical Bulu and weight loss Bulu. My fiance subscribes to the weight loss one due to his constant desire to lose those last five pounds. Bulu is $10/month, but there always seems to be a coupon for half off a subscription. He purchased six months, but has yet to have a truly good month. They have a referral points program, and you can also earn points by reviewing items in your box. The points you earn can be used in their store to purchase full-sized items that are sent in boxes.

The one thing I liked about this box was the inspirational box. :)

First look. Neatly packaged, but very small and light box.

Information Card

Smarty Pants Vitamins for Kids ($1.47) - I was very excited when these came because I had forgotten to take my vitamins that day and thought I could take these to at least get some in...I was wrong. They are a sugar-coated jelly gummy - AWFUL. I couldn't eat even one and spit them out immediately. I'm also very unhappy that he was sent kids vitamins in a weight loss box. This brand even has weight loss specific vitamins, but instead we got these. Plus, you have to take four to get the recommended daily dose, not a good idea for kids (or me) in general.

AminoActiv Pain Relief ($2.50) - There was a four-pack of capsules as well as a sample of the cream. These are supposed to be an alternative to Ibuprofen/NSAIDs, but are completely useless to us due to prescriptions he is currently on. These went in the trash immediately.

Power Crunch Protein Energy Bar ($0.49) - I have hated these since they first came to Walmart and I got a sample. My fiance loved it for some reason. It was a very small sample (not even a quarter of the real size) and definitely not enough to be a 'snack' for him. It was the only thing in the box that was worth it.

Manitoba HempPro 70 Protein Powder ($0.88) - This is kosher and plant-based, but tasted terrible. I will never purchase something that tastes so bad. I will take my quasi-chemical protein powder that tastes good over this any day.

Top Secret Nutrition Pump Igniter ($2.37) - Pump Igniter is a pre-workout liquid that you add to your water. It has the typical few nutrients and a bunch of chemicals that we are supposed to think really boost your workout. It's very expensive - $18.99 for eight servings. That's far too expensive for something that has a bad flavor.

This box was a total letdown. It's total value was approximately $7.71, definitely not worth it if you paid full price for the box and not even worth it to my fiance that only paid half. If he hadn't prepaid for six months, I'm sure he would have canceled after a box this bad. Was anyone else's box better or were they all crap this month? I haven't seen any reviews yet to know if he just got a bad one.
