Birchbox - July 2018 | Frankly Kiersten Reviews

When I received this box, it was $10/month (I signed up for six months) so I will base my opinions off of $10 instead of the new $15.

What is Birchbox?: Birchbox is the original subscription box, and it's still going strong. Birchbox sends anywhere from 4 to 8 products a month (full size, deluxe sample size, and sample size) and you can review your items each month for 10 points/item plus extra points for sharing your box on Social Media. You can also get additional points for getting a yearly subscription or getting referrals. Every 100 points you earn is $10 to use in their shop. Now on to the box!

How Much is Birchbox?: Birchbox is $15/month if you sign up monthly, $14/month if you sign up for six months (billed up front), and $13/month if you sign up for a year (billed up front). This is a jump from $10/month previously.

I hate myself for continuously signing up for Birchbox when I know it's always going to be a disappointment.

Super cute box, at least!

The Original Makeup Eraser (Sample) - This is the most hilarious thing I've ever received. They literally took a full-sized Makeup Eraser and cut it into pieces, they sent an actual cut piece of a microfiber cloth. Someone thought this was acceptable, but it's not.

Benefit The POREfessional ($4.27) - I used to love the crap out of this primer, until I found there was more than one primer. I have a full-size of this that I use from time to time so I passed this tiny little sample along.

Eyeko Brow Liner ($2.50) - This came in medium, which is actually a bit too light for my brows regardless of season. I passed it along.

Davines LOVE Smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner ($8.58/$1.56) - I so wish Birchbox would send actual samples of conditioner so I could figure out if this actually smooths or helps with frizz. I'll never be happy with these samples until equal samples are sent. Good thing I'm not subbed to Birchbox anymore, huh?

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo ($3.54) - My only favorite item out of the box that I kept/used! This is super good dry shampoo, cleans your hair without leaving a white cast or a gigantic mess. I love it!

Marcelle City 24H Anti-Pollution Day & Night Moisturizing Emulsion ($4.09) - I have no clue what an emulsion is supposed to be and I also don't buy into the anti-pollution crap, so pass.

The value of this box is $24.54, lower than the lowest of Ipsy bags. Even at the value point, I don't feel like I got my money's worth like I would have probably felt had this been an Ipsy bag. Birchbox, I'm just disappointed.

As always, let me know what you thought of this box in the comments!
