Polish Pickup Pack November 2018 - Et-Le | Polish Reviews

Hey, y'all! I disappeared partly because of life (adulting is fun) but partly because I was asked to participate as one of the Bloggers of the Month for Polish Pickup for November 2018! Because this post (and the accompanying one) is for PPU, it's a different layout than my normal posts. If you're looking for more pictures from me, make sure to check out the Polish Pickup Group! Please note that this is not the entire selection for PPU November, it's just the ones that makers chose to send to me.

If you're looking for the A-Em portion, click here!

Polish Pickup's info:

This collage looks just about as good as the other one...which isn't saying much.

Ethereal Lacquer's Witches of the Night is a black cherry jelly with a strong bronze to gold and sometimes green multichrome shimmer with large holographic flakies.

Inspiration: Night Witches
Price: $12.50
Cap: None

Another brown (well really a red-brown) that I wasn't sure about but I ended up loving this polish. The polish matches the inspiration perfectly. I love everything about this polish. No issues noted with the formula/application.

Formula: Very good.
Coats Used: Two coats.
Ease of Dry: Normal.
Texture: None noted.
Finish: Shine (almost glossy).
Removal: No issues.

Fair Maiden Polish's I Have the Power is a wine base multichrome shifts purple-magenta-copper w/gold holo glitters, iridescent flakes that shift pink-gold-green.

Inspiration: She-Ra
Price: $11.00
Cap: None

Ugh. The shift on this is so fun and unique. Maybe there will be future polishes inspired by the new She-Ra series! No issues noted with the formula/application other than minor texture.

Formula: Good.
Coats Used: Two coats.
Ease of Dry: Normal.
Texture: Minor texture noted.
Finish: Shine.
Removal: No issues.

Fanchromatic Nails's For Octavia is a bright blue/teal crelly with turquoise, red, black& tan glitter.

Inspiration: Octavia Butler
Price: $10.00
Cap: None

This definitely photographed more blue than it is. In person, it's more of a teal than a blue. I also couldn't get the bigger glitters as they sunk to the bottom of the bottle. I spoke to the maker and she assured me that this is a base issue that will be corrected with the final release.

Formula: Okay, the maker says this is corrected in final release.
Coats Used: Three coats.
Ease of Dry: Normal.
Texture: Texture noted.
Finish: Satin leaning matte.
Removal: No issues.

Femme Fatale's Multipass is a teal green base with blue shine, scattered holographic particles and contrasting red iridescent flakes.

Inspiration: LeeLoo (5th Element)
Price: $14.00
Cap: None

This is a stunner. It's a little on the thin side but it's totally worth it. I did find that it was a bit of a stainer and it did slightly stain the skin around my nails, so be more careful than I was when removing!

Formula: Good, a bit of a stainer.
Coats Used: Three coats.
Ease of Dry: Normal-quick stain.
Texture: None noted.
Finish: Shine.
Removal: Issues with blue dye slightly staining skin.

Fiendish Fancies's Blood Countess is a burgundy wine metallic with copper and rose gold.

Inspiration: Elizabeth Bathory
Price: $12.50
Cap: 100

Such a simple polish but so stunning. As this is a metallic, it does show every line that's on my nails. If you use a ridge-filling base coat (or don't have ridges like mine), you should be fine. No issues noted with the formula/application.

Formula: Good.
Coats Used: Two coats.
Ease of Dry: Normal.
Texture: Minimal texture noted.
Finish: Satin-shine.
Removal: No issues.

Flirtin' Cosmetics's Cigars on Ice is a duochrome polish with pink, light tangerine, and copper glitter.

Inspiration: Beyoncé
Price: $11.00
Cap: 75

Store|Facebook Page|Facebook Group|Instagram|Twitter

This is a super fun polish to work with. It's a duochrome but it's super strong so you can easily see both shades at once. No issues noted with the formula/application other than some texture.

Formula: Good, a little thick.
Coats Used: Two coats.
Ease of Dry: Normal.
Texture: Texture even with one coat of TC.
Finish: Shine.
Removal: No issues.

Girly Bits's My Name is Elizabeth is a magenta purple jelly, with pink shimmer, gold holo microflakes, and blue to purple shifting flakes.

Inspiration: Queen Elizabeth II
Price: $13.00
Cap: None

Another deep berry shade, another instant hit. Also, I'm obsessed with The Crown so double hit. No issues noted with the formula/application.

Formula: Very good.
Coats Used: Two coats.
Ease of Dry: Normal-quick.
Texture: None noted.
Finish: Shine.
Removal: No issues.

Grace-full Nail Polish's So What! is a black to purple/pink thermal with UCC flakies and micro glitter.

Inspiration: P!nk
Price: $12.50
Cap: 150

Yes, So What has been stuck in my head since swatching this. No issues noted with the formula/application. It is a jelly formula so there is VNL when the whole nail is warm.

Formula: Good, VNL with whole nail warm.
Coats Used: One coat.
Ease of Dry: Normal.
Texture: Texture noted, even with one coat of TC.
Finish: Shine.
Removal: No issues.

Heather's Hues's I'm Just as Strange as You is a tri-thermal shifting from brown to red to pink with gold/bronze/silver and red/orange UCC flakes, iridescent orange/pink/gold flakes, red/pink/gold chameleon microglitters, red-gold aurora shimmer, and gold holo dust.

Inspiration: Frieda Kahlo
Price: $13.00
Cap: 200

Make sure to check out the matte swatch below to see the red line that's the middle transition. No issues noted with the formula/application.

Formula: Very good.
Coats Used: Two coats.
Ease of Dry: Normal.
Texture: None noted.
Finish: Shine.
Removal: No issues.

Kathleen & Co's I Wish a Bitch Would is a magenta/red/purple/gold/green multichrome, multichrome magnetic, scattered holo.

Inspiration: Ashley Longshore
Price: $13.00
Cap: 200

This is such a stunner. It's also a magnetic but the magnetic is much more evident in the matte swatch below. Because it's multichrome and so is the polish, it's not a super evident magnetic line. No issues noted with the formula/application.

Formula: Good, a little thin.
Coats Used: Two coats.
Ease of Dry: Quick-normal.
Texture: None noted.
Finish: Shine.
Removal: No issues.

kbShimmer's Some Like it Scot is a multichrome polish based on a mix of dresses Claire wore with a touch of micro holo flake to add sparkle and shine, his multichrome homage to Claire.

Inspiration: Claire Fraiser (Outlander)
Price: $10.00
Cap: None

I love the cobalt blue around the edges. This polish definitely shifts without any work and you can easily see multiple shades at once. No issues noted with the formula/application.

Formula: Very good.
Coats Used: Two coats.
Ease of Dry: Normal.
Texture: None noted.
Finish: Shine.
Removal: No issues.

Lantern & Wren's Won't Break This is a gorgeous blue that shifts to a soft, yet intense green to reflect the depth of these women with holo shimmer is sprinkled throughout.

Inspiration: Women Code Breakers from WWII
Price: $11.00
Cap: 150

I really love this matte. There's something about the overall greenness to the polish without actually being green that I really like.

Formula: Good, a little thick.
Coats Used: Two coats.
Ease of Dry: Normal.
Texture: None noted.
Finish: Shine.
Removal: No issues.

Leesha's Lacquer's Nibi (which means water in Ojibwe) is a lake blue with green/bronze flakes, green flecks, a touch of holo shimmer and color shifting glitters.

Inspiration: Winona LaDuke
Price: $11.00
Cap: 100

Store|Facebook Page|Facebook Group|Instagram|Twitter

This is another polish that I really love matte. All of the glitters and flakes just pop so nicely when matte. No issues noted with the formula/application.

Formula: A little thick.
Coats Used: Two coats.
Ease of Dry: Normal.
Texture: Texture, required two coats of TC.
Finish: Shine.
Removal: No issues.

Lemming Lacquer's How a Woman Fights is a navy blue jelly with bright blue shimmer and a mix of iridescent flakes shifting purple/blue/pink/orange.

Inspiration: Atomic Blonde's Lorraine Broughton & Charlize Theron
Price: $13.00
Cap: 250

Store|Facebook Page|Facebook Group|Instagram|Twitter

From where I'm sitting, this looks more like a deep purple than a navy base, but it's so pretty regardless. I did have VNL when the nail was backlit so you might prefer an undie first. No issues noted with the formula/application.

Formula: Good, VNL when backlit.
Coats Used: Two coats.
Ease of Dry: Normal-slow.
Texture: Texture noted.
Finish: Shine.
Removal: No issues.

As always, let me know what you thought of this polish in the comments!
