Boxycharm - September 2017 | Blog My Backlog

What is Boxycharm?: Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box that sends 4-5 full-size beauty products with boxes being valued at $100+. Each month has a theme but it's not followed exactly as much as the spirit of the theme. Shipping has gotten a lot better since my last Boxycharm post, I get my box almost always in the first half of the month (there is a distribution center less than an hour from my house).

How Much is Boxycharm?: Boxycharm is $21/month shipped. Currently, Boxycharm is offered to the US, its territories, and Canada.

There have been some rumblings and a sign-up for Boxycharm Luxe. There is very little info but I'm hoping to get that subscription as well as the regular Boxycharm.

Yep, I went back to Boxycharm. It's been a few years since my last box but this (plus a recent resub to Birchbox) means comparison posts will be coming back too!

Info card.

bareMinerals Face Perfecting Brush ($28.00) - This is a somewhat useless product, at least it was when it was received. It's designed to be used with a liquid bareMinerals foundation. I didn't have one when this came in and I don't like to use foundation brushes like this (with a hole in the middle). I did end up getting one for free through Influenster and this is what happened. I gave this away.

Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Mask ($20.00) - 110% my favorite hair mask. I'm not sure what about this is so great, but it's practically magic. I use this at least once a week on my ends and they definitely are smoother and feel better when I use it!

MAC Eyebrow Pencil (Spiked) ($18.00) - I'm always a Nervous Nelly when I get brow products in subscription boxes. It's something personal and usually, they go too light or too warm for my liking. This was somehow the perfect shade. The formula itself is really good as well and I would definitely repurchase if/when I run out of brow products if it didn't look like it was discontinued.

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lippie (Little Stitious) ($6.00) - The Ultra Satin formula from ColourPop is one of the best liquid lipstick formulas I've found. It's comfortable and wears nicely and doesn't make my lips feel like sandpaper. The shade is also absolutely amazing and is just pink enough to be a pink without being too vibrant.

Studio Makeup Luminous Loose Blush ($35.00) - This isn't currently available so I can't link it. The brand itself seems like super overpriced makeup that is just okay at best. The blush is pretty but it's very shimmery to the point of almost glittery. I don't like or wear shimmery/glittery blushes so this is a pass, even though the base shade is gorgeous.

PUR Cosmetics Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette ($34.00) - I know some people really dislike getting a neutrals palette in subscriptions but I'm a fan of them. Everyone can't always wear super bright and vibrant shades but most people are able to wear a palette like this. Some of the mattes in this are a little patchy but are buildable and the shimmers are stunning.

Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette Swatches L-R, top to bottom.

MAC Eyebrow Pencil, ColourPop Lippie. (Missing is the Luminous Loose Blush, it's a very glittery and shimmery mauve blush.

This box was valued at $141. Overall I really liked this box. It had some really good products and I really haven't gone towards PUR palettes before trying this one out, so that made me more interested in a brand!

As always, let me know what you thought of this box in the comments!
