Jior Couture - We Built This | August 2018 Polish Pickup

Picture overload warning, this is a magnetic!

Yoooooo, I did something I haven't done in so many years (remember when magnetic polishes were in the drugstore?), I used a magnetic polish! August's Polish Pickup theme is musicals, which just means I understand half of the references and I have to look up the other half. This polish is based on Black-ish's Juneteeth episode (one I haven't seen but I am working my way through Black-ish). The polish is $12.50 and there's no cap!

Polish Pickup is a monthly polish shopping extravaganza! Each month, there's a new theme (voted on by group members) and makers individually decide if they want to participate and create their own polish to meet the theme. This month, the store is open from 8/3-8/6, and you can buy as many or as few polishes as you want. The shipping is $3.00 total (US), no matter how many polishes you get, and they combine shipping if you make more than one order during the weekend!

What? This is a magnetic polish, why is there no magnetic line? Well, I saw some people saying in various groups that sometimes magnetic polishes don't look good if you don't do the magnetic thing so I wanted to show it off sans effect. Magnetic pics below!

Even if I couldn't use this with a magnet, it's still a gorgeous base. The polish is a lovely multichrome with flakes!!

Okay, so here's the magnetic pigment showing. You can use different magnets to do different designs or use the magnet in different directions to switch it up. I wanted to clearly show the magnetic line so I opted for something more simple..

This picture went a little greener than I would have liked but oh well. You can see the bits in the base better in this picture.

I did notice that some of the magnetic bits were spreading out a bit. I'm not sure if maybe a stronger magnet would keep the defined line longer or if it's my eyes playing tricks on me. This is always an option because you eventually lose it a bit when you look at your nails constantly.
