Quixotic Polish - Violet's First Dance Review | Swatch My Stash

Ladies and Lads, this week is crazy. Mostly because husband's graduation is tonight, finally!! I'm seriously about to freak just because it's finally over. I'm not even getting this degree and I've still been feeling the stress of getting it. There are some other things going on this week so think good thoughts for me while you read this. ;)

Violet's First Dance is a purple to magenta jelly with scattered holographic sparkles.

Brush macro.

Bottle macro.

Glossy nail macro.

I didn't know this was a jelly polish when I first bought it, so I was actually a bit irritated when swatching. I don't mind jellies but I was hoping for a sweet shifty two-coater.

The squishiness of the jelly does make for the sparkles showing through under many layers. It's a cool effect but there is serious visible nail line even with four coats. Next time I wear this, it's going to be with an undie.

Matte nail macro.

While I am almost always a super fan of mattified polishes, this one loses the spark of the sparkles. The silver in the deeper purple looks amazing if that's what you're looking for, but I really bought this polish for the holographic sparkles.

Formula: Normal for a jelly, a little thin so it needed to be built up.
Coats for Opacity: Four coats, still VNL.
Ease of Dry: Normal-dry.
Texture: None noted.
Finish: Shine.
Removal: Normal removal, no issues noted.
Top Coat Used: Glossy/Matte.

As always, let me know what you thought of this polish in the comments!
