Fortune Cookie Soap Of the Month - June 2017 (Naked Box) | Blog My Backlog

What is Fortune Cookie Soap's FCS of the Month Box?: Fortune Cookie Soap of the Month is Fortune Cookie Soap's monthly box to get your monthly fix of FCS products. It launched at the beginning of the year and has had some amazing themes so far. Each month's box has a different theme (hair, body, face, feet, etc.) and will have a mix of past, present, and new scents/products along with at least one brand new product. You can skip any months you want to so it's the perfect subscription if you want specific items or only want a few boxes a year.

How Much is Fortune Cookie Soap's FCS of the Month Box?: FCS of the Month is $28.00 plus shipping ($6.95 for the US). Use code 'Firstfcsbox' to save $6.95 off of your first box.

I know what you're thinking, this sounds dirty. The Naked Box actually just means it's naked from all scents. The box came with a code to get your own oil blend to make your products have whatever scent you want them to have!

Info book.

Aloe Infused Mist Me (Naked As A Jaybird) ($9.99) - If you're looking for fancy water to spray on you, this is it. It's meant to hydrate your skin after a day in the sun, but that would mean you have to go outside and do things to need to be hydrated. I'm sure a nice refreshing spray is great for some people, but I prefer to just bathe if I'm gross or use my normal skincare products if I'm dehydrated.

Aloe Infused Shower Oil (Buck Naked) ($11.49) - I think this is supposed to be a hydrating oil, but I'm not entirely sure. It's a spray for you to use in the shower after your shower, but you really have to be careful with what oils you add in your routine if you're prone to breakouts or if you're already an oily person. I like this addition because I do find it adds some moisture to my skin that I jokingly refer to as 'drier than the Sahara' on a normal day without products added. I enjoy this right after I've gotten out of the shower before I dry off, and I do my best to not spray the oil on the floor because I'm clumsy enough as it is.

Aloe Infused Sugar Scrub (In the Buff) ($12.99) - I have moved to not enjoy sugar scrubs in recent months. They end up being a lot of work and I don't see a lot of dry/dead skin issues in general, so this was a pass.

Sea Salt Hair Spritz (Strip Teased) ($9.99) - Remember the earlier days of this decade when textured hair was all the rage? I clearly can remember braiding my hair in a bunch of thinner braids to create this weird wavy-curly thing and then spraying a bunch of sea salt spray to make it all beachy, yikes. I don't usually use a texturizing spray in my hair anymore, I prefer it to be smoother and my hair is big enough as it is.

Hair Oil (Nude Beach) ($8.99) - I quite fancy this for the ends of my hair. It adds some needed moisture and weighs it down a bit to reduce some fluff. I don't spread it throughout my entire head because I've found it causes a grease-ball look, but the bits on the ends is just enough!

OCD Hand Sanitizer (Full Moon) ($1.00) - I'm all about using hand sanitizer so this is a perfect addition. I didn't add any scent into it because sometimes my asthma is bad and any strong scents can set me off, so this stays in my purse for those times.

Aloe Infused Whipped Cream (Birthday Suit) ($12.99) - Like with the hand sanitizer, I wanted this to stay pure and unscented for my bad days. It's just as moisturizing as the regular whipped cream but without any scent or color!

Perfume Oil (Sweet Hippie) ($9.99/Free) - This box came with a code for every subscriber to get a free CYO perfume oil during the event that followed the box arriving. You could choose your own scent from their list of available blends or you could create your own, which is what I did. My scent is honey, vanilla, and patchouli, which turned out as good as I had hoped. It's a nice mix of sweet and earthy, just what I wanted! They also included a dropper (a la microbiology classes) to easily add the right amount of oil to products.

This box was valued at $77.43, well over the cost of it. I love the idea of an unscented box so you could have unscented items or you could add your own scent. I also like that even this many months later, you can still buy quite a few of these products in this unscented variety so I might be making an order soon...

As always, let me know what you thought of this box in the comments!
