Lip Love - November 2016

What is Lip Love?: Lip Love is a monthly subscription box by So Susan. Each month will include at least three full-sized products, one bonus makeup, and one bonus accessory. Each month you get a unique canvas bag as well.

How Much is Lip Love?: Lip Love is $20.95 (American) per month with international shipping available. I did have to pay a foreign transaction fee because they are located in the UK, so make sure you know that ahead of time. They have begun shipping from a US distribution center, but shipping time doesn't seem to have gotten any faster. The bags get cheaper if you do longer subscriptions, so that's always great.

An eyeshadow palette, I was really excited to try this out!

The bag reminds me of a Dr. Seuss book.

Info card.

Lip Butter (Balloons) ($18.95) - Definitely a 'my lips but better' shade. It's a creamy lipstick that dries to a sheen finish. I did find that it transfers but that's the norm of creamy lipsticks. Nothing really negative to report but I wouldn't pay $19 for this lipstick when I have just purchased lipsticks from the drugstore for a fraction of the price and the same, if not better) formula.

Cheek Souffle ($18.95) - This is a creme to powder blush, and you can see that I couldn't wait to try this until after I photographed it. The shade is a gorgeous orange-leaning coral that blends out very easily without losing the pigmentation.

Afterglow ($22.00) - A bronze-y pink luminizer that can easily be a strong line of color or a nice glow. I feel like it's too strong to be a highlight but it's gorgeous on your inner corner of your eye or topping a neutral look.

Liquid Powder Shadow Palette (Midnight Goddess) ($14.95) - There's some interesting information about how this is poured liquid and then dries to a creamy powder, or so it says. Some of these are really creamy and so good to work with, others are patchy and rough. You can see in the swatches below which were done with my finger (meaning the best payoff possible). This would still be an item I'd recommend because the cost is quite good for eight shadows.

Swatches: Lip Butter, Cheek Souffle, Afterglow, Eyeshadow Palette.

This bag is valued at $86.80, well over the cost. My ongoing issue, though, is that the prices are far overpriced in general, thus inflating the value of their bags. I liked the items well enough but I would not have paid what they charge for any of these items save for the eyeshadow palette.

As always, let me know what you thought of this bag in the comments!
