Highlight Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick Review

Remember the days where I bought tons of makeup? Well, I do (mostly because I see it daily) and I've decided to start actually using it and sharing the looks I do. I still need to practice and work towards doing my makeup better, but I'm working on it! As my debut look, I have a liquid lipstick from Highlight Cosmetics! Highlight Cosmetics prides itself on using natural ingredients including turmeric, a peptide, green and white tea extract, kelp extract, and safflower oil, which all work to help your lips look and feel softer and more vibrant while reducing the appearance of lip wrinkles! This lipstick is $25 and is available in a variety of colors.

So, I have always been wary of darker colors or anything that's not a nice pink or coral lip product. When I was given this offer, I knew I was going to pick a color outside of my normal choices and that's precisely what I did with Terracotta Dream. There are ten shades available currently in either a matte finish or a metallic matte finish!

Terracotta Dream is definitely what the name implies, it's a gorgeous shade of terracotta (a neutral red). This is a matte lipstick and it dries matte in a matter of moments after application. It's just slow enough to not cause issues during application without being so slow that it feels tacky for an extended period of time.

Because this is a matte liquid lipstick, it does show any lines you may have on your lips. I do suggest doing a mild scrub before applying any matte lip product, just to remove any dead skin that might be hanging on. I used Terracotta Dream with a neutral eye look because to me, this is a bold lip! I also used a combination of the doe foot applicator that comes with the product as well as an angled lip brush to get a straight line on my lips.

The formula is great, I love matte lipsticks and really love liquid lipsticks! I did notice a bit of dryness when I did my first test so the second time around, I made sure to apply a good lip balm prior to use. I did wear test this for six hours, drinking from both a cup and a straw and eating a meal, and only noticed the lipstick beginning to wear off at the end of the six hours.

Let me know what you think of this lipstick as well as future makeup reviews!
