Lip Love - July 2016

What is Lip Love?: Lip Love is a monthly subscription box by So Susan. Each month will include at least three full-sized products, one bonus makeup, and one bonus accessory. Each month you get a unique canvas bag as well.

How Much is Lip Love?: Lip Love is $20.95 (American) per month with international shipping available. I did have to pay a foreign transaction fee because they are located in the UK, so make sure you know that ahead of time. The bags get cheaper if you do longer subscriptions, so that's always great.

Another month with Lip Love! This one took longer than usual, but still very fast considering it's from the UK.

Makeup Bag ($12.00) - Yes, these are very much available for purchase and it appears that you can get many different ones. The bags are great, big enough to hold many products and they are lined, so messes are contained.

Info card.

So Susan Moisturizing Soft-Focus Peptide Foundation (Warm Beige) ($24.95) - This was the product that caused a Twitter rant of mine. Why send out a foundation, a full bottle nonetheless, and not even ask subscribers which shade would match them? This shade is too dark for me during the Summer, which means it will always be too dark for me. I like the consistency of it, I just wish they had cared enough to ask prior to sending this out. I emailed and they gave me a generic response about how they don't replace items and a general 'too bad' response, and that they wouldn't ask in the future either.

Neapolitan Palette Trio ($17.95) - This is a gorgeous mini-palette, and I absolutely love the name. It definitely is 'neapolitan' with the three 'flavors' and the consistency is perfect. It's creamy, not too powder-y, and it's a very light-to-buildable palette.

Blush & Glow ($22.95) - This is a very pigmented blush, so just a tiny amount goes a very long way. I love the color and it's packed full of shimmer to add a great glow. It's not for someone that wants matte blushes, because the shimmer does stay around long after the color is gone.

Creamsicle (Acerola) ($17.95) - I thought this product looked familiar, and I was right. We just received this in a different shade in May! I do really like this product, it's multi-use so it's perfect for easier makeup days, and it actually works as both a cheek tint and a lip gloss/tint. It's sheer, so no heavy looks here!

Swatches L-R: Neapolitan Palette, Blush & Glow, Creamsicle.

This bag was valued at $95.80, which is well over the $20.95 cost. I didn't like how they handled the foundation and really didn't like how they reacted to my question, so that does put a big mark in the 'no' side for this bag. I will continue to get this bag, for the time being, but will be thinking about this misstep for quite a while.
