What Is It?: Loot Crate is a monthly gaming and geek subscription box that sends 6-8 items each month that caters to a theme of some sort. They don't do spoilers except for what the theme is, which kills me! It was nice to open a true surprise, though.

Loot Crate has officially become the subscription company to get all your needs in one, thanks to upgrading their lineup. There is now the Core Crate (what I get), Loot Pets, Loot Anime, and Loot Gaming. So now, you can get all of your nerdy fixes as well as your animal's fix from one company!
It was a bigger box this time. I didn't look at any spoilers, so I was completely surprised. The theme for January is Invasion, which tied in nicely with X-Files coming back.
X-Files/Invasion T-Shirt ($15.00/Exclusive) - After last month's issue with receiving the wrong style shirt, I was glad to see this month's came as it's supposed to be (a men's shirt). I love the bright colors and so even though it's not my husband's style, it will be a perfect workout shirt for me.
ALIEN Facehugger Plush ($15.00/Exclusive) - Isn't this just the cutest face eating creature ever? It's great, because it can either be a plush to show off, or you can attach it to your face with the rubber band included. Trumpet has already tried to fight back, but it's so cute that it has earned a spot on my shelf!
The Fifth Element Replica Multi Pass ($10.00/Exclusive) - I have to come clean, I had no clue what this was from just by looking at it. I didn't watch The Fifth Element, hadn't even heard of it until looking into this. It's a really cool prop, and I like that it's an exclusive.
Space Invaders Vinyl Figure ($10.00/Exclusive) - There were three options for this, and I want to get the other two so desperately! This is so cute and I love the color combinations. It's another exclusive, so I'm guessing, but I would definitely have paid $10 to get one. Another item from this box that is already displayed.
The X-Files Flashlight ($10.00/Exclusive) - Not necessarily an item that thrills you to get, but it's a cool extra and one can always use an extra flashlight. Loot Crate was kind enough to also send batteries, so no worries about using it immediately!
Invasion Mini Prints ($8.00/Exclusive) - These are really well done pieces of art, but I haven't really ever figured out what to do with mini-prints. These will probably be passed along to a friend of ours that seems to get a few of our extra nerdy things.
Mini Mag & Pin - Starting with this pin, you get an added bonus on the website if you log onto Lootcrate.com/pins, so that's an awesome extra for us. I really love that they've gone from basic pins to nice, detailed ones. These are a much better quality, so props on that!
If my numbers are correct, this box is valued at approximately $68. Now while that's a great number, all of the items were exclusives and therefore could have some variations in value/cost. I was pleasantly pleased with this box, much more than I expected to be after the theme was announced. My favorite item is definitely the Space Invaders Figure, just because it's adorable (and I have Space Invader Vinyls decorating my office walls). To sign up, click here and use code 'SAVE3.'
