Swatch Saturday! Smokey Mountain Lacquers
Disclosure: These polishes were sent to me at a discount for the purpose of a review. All opinions are my own.
It's time for another Swatch Saturday. This week, the polishes are from Smokey Mountain Lacquers, which hails from the Smokey Mountains in North Tennessee, as the name suggests. Being a Southern girl, I knew I was interested in trying out this brand and buying local. Three of these are still available for purchase, so make sure you snatch yours up quick!
First off, check out how this was packaged! It could easily be purchased as a gift and all you need is to wrap the box! Presentation is such a big thing with me, so this was so nice.
First up is Blackberry Jam! Blackberry Jam is a blackened purple holographic, and man is it full of holo! The base itself is gorgeous, I love purples and I really love darker purples. This applies like a dream. I used two coats to reach full opacity, and it smoothed out perfectly. There's so much holographic, so be prepared to stare at your nails every time you go outside!
Swatch, two coats.
Next is Smokey Mountain Fog. Smokey Mountain Fog is a medium gray holographic, and looks just like the fog that covers the mountains. I love grays, and it's so hard to find one that's a true gray and this one is a holo to boot! It looks great on and in the bottle. I used two thinner coats, but you might could get away with one thicker one!
Swatch, two coats.
I'm always looking for a new black holographic polish, so I made sure to grab Koko 2.0. Koko 2.0 is a black ultra holo, and boy is it black! It's a great two coater and would be perfect for a fancy night out or just because! This is another one where you will stare each time your nails catch some sun, so be careful!
Swatch, two coats.
My final polish for today is Tidal Wave. Tidal Wave is from the Long Tide No Sea collection but is no longer available. It is an aqua cream that dries matte. I used three thin coats, but I could have used thicker coats to make this polish opaque. You could also apply over a white base to make it opaque in fewer coats. I love the way this dried, I'm a huge collector of matte polishes or making it matte with a topcoat, so this was a no brainer. It's the perfect shade of aqua and definitely a great way to hold on to grasps of summer!
Swatch, three coats.
The first three polishes are available along with the remainder of the Fallin' for Holos collection! 8mL minis are available for $6.00 and 15mL full sizes are available for $7.00. The entirety of the collection is perfect for transitioning from fall to winter, and all are gorgeous holographics!
As always, be sure to let me know what you thought of these polishes in the comments!
