TacPack - June 2015

What is TacPack?: TacPack is a monthly subscription box full of gun gear for shooters and gun fanatics. Each month may include AR15 accessories, knives, EDC tools, targets, patches, shirts, cleaning materials, and stickers.

How Much is TacPack?: To do a one month trial, it's $55.00, but it becomes a little bit cheaper if you do a longer subscription.

It comes in a box that lets you know what it is when you open your mailbox.

Info card.

Subcon Holsters Wick Holder (Customized Holster) ($60.00) I was really, really hoping this was going to come in before I posted the review, but I couldn't wait anymore. Included this month was one 'big ticket' item, which ended up being a redemption for a Subcon Holster. They sent you an information card with a certificate number and you emailed the company what kind of pistol you wanted a holster for.
My husband ended up choosing one of his pistols to be the one to get it for because we didn't have a holster for it and it's not commonly found. In the email it said they were 1-2 weeks out, and that was on the 15th. At the time of writing this, two weeks later, I still have not received tracking or the holster.

UPDATE #1: It has been over a month since redeeming the code for this holster and I had not received any contact from the company since the initial email. After I initiated contact, I was informed that they incorrectly gave me a lead time and that their time is 4-6 weeks, which is drastically different from the 1-2 weeks I was quoted. I was also given poor customer service where they repeatedly told me their quality stands by their lead time. I am very unhappy with the lack of support and the lack of professionalism that I received. On top of that, there is still no specified time on when the holster will get here. I will not be doing business with Subcon again.

UPDATE #2: It has now been 11 weeks with no holster and no set date as to when it will ship. I have been in constant contact with the owner of TacPack and he has been wonderful to speak with. He has done everything in his power to fix things and went as far as to send husband a box of goodies to make things right. TacPack did not have anything to do with the way Subcon handled things and has no control over their failure to deliver. With that said, there is always the chance that husband will decide to make a subscription with TacPack and I fully support that.

Breakthrough Clean Technologies (BT-101 Basic Cleaning Kit) ($24.95) - This is actually a really big kit, it just looks small. There's oil, solvent, a toothbrush, a cloth, and two wet cloths. There's other things you could add to your cleaning pack, but this is a great way to start out a gun cleaning pack. It's weird to see it in a subscription box, most gun fans have a certain brand they are fond of, but it's nice to have as a just in case thing.

Safety Glasses (~$2.50) - This is a great extra to have, and I like that they're in plastic so they don't get scratched. Great add-on and something for a range bag.

Ear Plugs (~$1.00) - We both already have some of our own, but this is a great extra. You can always use another pair of plugs!

This month's box was valued at around $88, which is pretty high for a gun enthusiast box, (if you ever get the entire box). We will not be purchasing TacPack again due to the way their business is being handled and I would not recommend it to anyone. As always, let me know what you thought of this in the comments!
