Birchbox - May 2015

Birchbox is the original subscription box, and it's still going strong. Even when the box isn't the greatest, the subscription is usually worth it because of the points system. For those that don't know, Birchbox sends anywhere from 4 to 8 products a month (full size, deluxe sample size, and sample size) and you can review your items each month for 10 points/item. You can also get additional points for getting a yearly subscription or getting referrals. Every 100 points you earn is $10 to use in their shop. Now on to the box!

This month, Birchbox teamed up with Cupcakes and Cashmere to curate the box.

A nice note from Emily

Info card.

Harvey Prince Sincerely ($1.65) - I use Harvey Prince perfumes already (because they seem to be in every box), but this one smells a bit different than the others I have from them. It seems darker and more like a nighttime perfume than the citrus-y ones I already have.

Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect ($4.80) - In the past, I've been very negative about No4 products, but this one is actually pretty nice. The scent is different, but not something that I hate so much to not wear. I always seem to need more detangling products, and this one does what it needs to.

Naobay Oxygenating Cream Moisturizer ($14.40) - This smells amazing and like I've moved to the beach. I love how much was sent and how long it will last, as just the tiniest amount goes a long way. I'll be swapping this in as my makeup base, so I'm excited to see how it works as that!

Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Palette ($3.99) - I've had Revealed 1 & 2 and gotten rid of them every time I got it. The colors are nice and I love the little quads that CS samples with, but the palettes are useless to me. They are just a little too big/bulky for me and the shadows are always hit or miss.

Juice Beauty STEM CELLULAR CC Cream ($3.90) - I'm still not the biggest fan of CC creams, I'm still using BB creams, but this is nice (for someone darker than me). It's so hard to get stuff in subscription boxes that are for 'ghost,' and this just missed the mark.

This box is valued at $28.74 and it wasn't a complete failure. I really enjoyed the new scents in the perfume, the hair detangler, and the moisturizer. I will probably use the CS sampler at some point (I have a lot of their quads), and the CC cream will be given away. For paying less than $10 (I have a yearly) and getting the $5 to spend in the store, it's definitely worth the money. If you got Birchbox this month, let me know what you thought about it!
