Boxycharm - February 2015

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription that costs $21/month. They have monthly themes and send items based on those themes. I've seen boxes average 4-5 items, but some have more items. All of the boxes in a month are usually the same (shades may vary), which is good for spoilers. You also have the entire month to sign up and still be eligible to get that month's box. Shipping does take some time, though. They post that they have 5-10 business days to send you box out.

They have a referral program also that earns you charms. Other ways to earn charms includes reviewing items you receive each month as well as bonus charms for taking a box three months in a row. The charms can be redeemed towards month-specific items which will be sent in your next month's box! (If you use my referral, my email is k.boatwright1@gmail.com and I can also send you the referral code if you need it.) This box came fairly quickly, took less than a week from ship date to arrival, but the actual email took a while to show up.

This month took forever for me to get, because they sent it to my old address from two months ago and I go back to get it. Luckily, I wasn't missing too much with this one.

First look.

Mistura Beauty Solutions C-2-P Complexion Corrector ($29.70) - This is a cream to powder product, which is a nice change. It goes on nicely but it's a bit too dark and yellow for me. I can still use it, and just have to blend it out with some powder. I'm not sure about how useable it will be for darker complexions, though.

ncLA Nail Lacquer (Heart Attack) ($16.00) - I would have loved to swatch this for you, but it is 100% sealed up and will not open. It looks like a nice glitter topper in the bottle and online. It would have been nicer if this had come in the January box so it would have been here in time for Valentine's Day (for those that can open the bottle).

Modern Minerals Duo Fiber Mini Round Brush ($15.00) - This brush is super soft and is described as the 'perfect brush for shading' along with some other uses. It really is nice for blending and would be useful in so many different eye looks.

Jing Ai Velvet Shine Lip Jewel (Raspberry Ice) ($22.00) - This is a really smooth lip color and doesn't bleed more than any other one does, but the color is the darkest one available. For spring especially, I would think a lighter color would have been better. It's also something way out of my comfort zone, but I know my mom will use the crap out of it if I don't. A swatch is below, and you can see a bit of the bleeding in it. (ignore my insane freckles, please!)

Mullein & Sparrow Mini Facial Mask ($15.00) - I honestly love the way that this is packaged. Since it's dry, it's less likely to be ruined than moist masks. This can be used by mixing a small amount with some water, and it's a ready to use mask! I'm curious to see how long it lasts in this size.

Overall, the value of this box is at $97.70. Besides the nail polish, I wasn't 100% angry with the box. I feel like some changes with shades could have made it so much better, but I understand that it's impossible to please everyone all of the time. If you got Boxycharm this month, let me know what you thought about it in the comments!
