Birchbox #2 - October 2014

I'm now getting two Birchboxes to try to get a better variety of stuff (and hopefully a better experience)! My second one came in recently and I decided that reviewing both would give a better grasp of what Birchbox offers. I haven't decided if I'll keep it or how long I will, but here it is for now!

Birchbox is the original subscription box, and it's still going strong. Even when the box isn't the greatest, the subscription is usually worth it because of the points system. For those that don't know, Birchbox sends anywhere from 4 to 8 products a month (full size, deluxe sample size, and sample size) and you can review your items each month for 10 points/item. You can also get additional points for getting a yearly subscription or getting referrals. Every 100 points you earn is $10 to use in their shop. Now on to the box!

This was my first box with Birchbox, and I was curious to know what I would get. I didn't do my survey the same and made it lighter, so hopefully I would get some great products.

Theme card, Fanfare

Info card.

Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Palette ($3.99) - This is something I see in BB a lot recently. I've actually received it as part of my free gift with order for being an Ace. I love Coastal Scents samplers because they fit so nicely in my makeup bag. They go on smoothly and last very well, especially for the price.

Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator ($5.67) - This has papaya in it, and I love the smell of papayas. There is a nice, light grit due to micro-crystals, to make sure it's cleaning nicely. I like that there is also aloe for cooling and relaxing after the grit. I will definitely be buying more of this when the sample runs out.

Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm ($4.80) -  This matched me perfectly, which is hard to do! I love BB creams and love how this smells. It's nice that it has SPF included, so I feel better about going outside wearing it.

Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo ($2.88) - I still do not like No4 products, only because of the scent. I really wish they would have different fragrances, and maybe one that's not like a bad hotel shampoo.

Number 4 Reconstructing Masque ($2.84) - This masque is just enough for one use, which makes it hard to review. I'm not going to pay No4's prices when I'm not sure if it even really works. No more foil packs!

Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips ($2.90) - This reminds me of putting vaseline jelly on my lips. It's so thick, it makes it difficult to get out of a little squeeze bottle. I would prefer something like this in a jar so I can dab. Besides the packaging problem, I love how this feels. It's great for wearing around the house and making your lips softer in the process! It can also be used on cuticles, which is great for someone like me getting my nails ready for blogs!

Overall, this box was worth $23.08. If this had been my first box with BB, I would definitely want to continue getting it! Boxes like these show a great variety and would probably convince someone to continue getting this box. What do you think about this box? Let me know in the comments!
