Ipsy/Birchbox Spoilers! - October 2014
As always, I do my best to post my spoilers for my Ispy and Birchbox as soon as they post. This month, however, Birchbox took forever to update my box. I'm not sure what's going on with that recently, because mine used to be one of the first to update. Forewarning, I am not happy with Birchbox this month so don't read that part if you don't want to see my complaints!
This month's Ipsy includes Ayres Patagonia Body Butter, Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser, NOPI Nail Lacquer, Noyah Lipstick, and Skone Cosmetics Tattooed Waterproof Eyeliner. I have never heard of the brand, Ayres, so I'm not sure what to think about it so far. I do use a lot of lotion once it starts getting cold, so I am sure I will find it useful. Indie Lee is another new brand for me, but hopefully I enjoy the cleanser and it actually works. NOPI isn't new to me and while it's a well-known brand, it's definitely not one of my favorites. I also don't like a lot of the shades that I've been seeing, but maybe I'll be able to use mine. Noyah looks interesting and I'm sure someone around here will use the lipstick, as long as it's not some super vampy color. Finally, I'm looking forward to the Skone Eyeliner least, mostly because it looks to be liquid/pen and that means it will be everywhere on my face besides my eyes!
In Birchbox this month, we were supposed to be allowed the option to choose one of our samples or an entire box. I chose a Mally lippie, however they did not include this in my box. They sent out an email stating that it was because they overshot how many they could send out, but in my opinion, I shouldn't have been one that got left out. I'm an Ace, so I chose a sample earlier than most, and thus my name should have been closer to the top of the list. That being said, it's obvious they went by when your box was made and not when the sample was being chosen, because my box is taking forever to show as shipped.
I am receiving Essential Elements Shower Gel, Paula's Choice Serum, ModelCo Mascara, LuMESH Lip Gloss, and a clariSEA Mask. I've never heard of Essential Elements Shower Gel, but I'm not looking forward to the Rosemary scent (it makes me sneeze). I know of Paula's Choice and am interested in trying this out. I am not a fan of ModelCo in general, which is why I didn't choose it as my sample. I have so many mascaras, I don't need another. LuMESH sounds familiar, so I guess I'll see if I really know what it is when it comes in. Finally, clariSEA is a brand I have seen others get, so I'm happy to try out a new mask.
Overall, I'm feeling very disappointed in both boxes. I'm far happier with Ipsy than I am with Birchboc, which is ridiculous to me. I'm really angry with the Birchbox situation, though, because that lip sample was the only reason I kept the subscription for this month. It's a wasted month for me so hopefully some of the new boxes I've subbed to will cheer me up.
