Love With Food - September 2014

This month's Love with Food was a little late, must be payback for getting it so early last month. For those that don't know, Love with Food is a monthly food subscription box that has organic or all-natural snacks.

There are two sizes, the Tasting Box and the Deluxe Box. The Tasting Box (which is what I get) has 8+ snacks and donates one meal to hungry kids in America. It is as low as $10/month and free shipping with a yearly subscription (shipping is $2/box without a yearly subscription). The Deluxe Box has 16-20 snacks and donates two meals to hungry kids in America. It is as low as $17/month with a yearly subscription or $19.95/month if you do it monthly.

New is a Gluten Free option that guarantees everything they send will be gluten free instead of just possible. This option offers 8-12 snacks every month and it donates two meals to hungry kids in America. It is pricier, at as low as $25/month (on a yearly subscription) or $32/month if you go month-to-month. With the Gluten Free option, it's free shipping regardless of which plan you choose.

They have a review program where you get points to use in their store (10 points per item, points for taking boxes, and a referral program) that is also great. Their store includes items found in boxes as well as other snacks and past boxes at a slightly higher cost than if you had taken that box. Now on to the box!

This is my last Love with Food for the current time. I just haven't been in love with their boxes recently and I'm finding less and less stuff I'm interested in trying/eating/etc. I am not super picky, and neither is my fiance, but there was just some really weird stuff that we weren't enjoying trying out.

The theme for the month is Spice Up Your Life and is (obviously) all about changing up your life and making it more fun and just better in general.

Information card. I still like that they made it into a booklet, but it is very hard to photograph.

Amazing Grass Green Superfood (Original) - This is a nutrient-rich powder to put in a smoothie with fruits and milk. I'm sure I could find the right combination of fruits/vegetables to throw in so I wouldn't taste it, but I would hate to spend that much money to risk tasting this again.

Way Better Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips - I love tortilla chips, but I really just didn't like these. I passed them off to my father because I know he will, but they just weren't my cup of tea...at all. I don't care for chili flavored things singularly, so that is the likely cause. I would be interested to try out some other flavors, though!

Mandy's Rich Chocolate Cookie Thins - I like that this utilized dark chocolates to create the flavor, but it reminds me of the sad part of an Oreo. I would have definitely loved it if there had been a filling of some sort to make a sandwich. Still a good cookie, just needs to be dipped in something or to be as a topping.

Ziggy Marley Organics Hemp Rules Roasted Hemp Seeds - These are good when thrown in a smoothie to add some serious health benefits, but you do have to get past the texture and flavor (if you don't add enough extras in). They do give a good boost for additional benefits, and I would definitely use it time and time again.

Love With Food Churro Kettle Corn - I don't have a particular fondness for kettle corn, and especially not kettle corn that's flavored in what used to be one of my favorite desserts. I love churros and I could begin to love kettle corn, but not together!

Fogg City Spice Co Lemon Rosemary Seasoning - This was useless to me, all because I really hate rosemary. It makes me sneeze the moment I start to try and it doesn't stop for quite some time. I know it's a nice seasoning pack, though, and it will be passed along to anyone that will use it not around me.

Maruso Ghost Soy Sauce - This is another cooking seasoning that I have no use for. I love things that have Soy Sauce in it, but I hate dealing with cooking those things.

Overall, I was less than pleased with this box and this subscription, thus my canceling. It's not a bad subscription if you enjoy more of these foods and some weird flavors, but it definitely wasn't for me. Did anyone else get LWF? Any loves or hates this month? Let me know in the comments!
